Simulating Lava Procedure

After looking at our results for our last lab titled "Simulating Lava Flow", it was clear that there were hidden variables in our experiment that kept us from drawing a strong conclusion.

Your Task:
Write a procedure for the Simulating Lava Flow experiment that includes the following:
A) Tests only ONE variable (type of lava, slope of hill, ect.)
B) Eliminates hidden variables by identifying volumes, weights and lengths of materials used.
C) Uses units of measurement.
D) Is clear and replicable.

The independent vairable is the angle of the plate
The dependent variable is time in seconds

Procedure

Step 1
Get out material they are :
A beaker of 40 milliliters of dish soap
2 paper plates
a ruler

Step 2
Get the 2 paper plates and measure each distance the plate is going to be at

Step 3
line up the plate at your first distance the get the 40 milliliters of soap and pour it down the plate and time it in seconds and record on paper

Step 4
repeat step 3 at each distance
